PROGRAM (133 CREDITS)

 

PROGRAM OBJECTIVE

Upon completion of the program in Secondary English Education, the graduate is eligible to receive Pennsylvania State Instructional I Public School Teaching Certificate in Secondary Education, English (Grades 7-12), pending successful completion of Pennsylvania basic skills and specialty exams. In addition, successful completion of Pennsylvania’s special education exams is required to obtain the Special Education PreK – 12 certification.

 

PURPOSE

The University of Valley Forge Special Education PreK-12 certification program is designed to equip teacher candidates with the content knowledge and pedagogical skills necessary to meet the needs of special education students from grades PreK-12 in an inclusive or special education classroom.

Four additional required Special Education courses are included below with the regular Secondary English Education 7-12 program.
