SPORT MANAGEMENT
ASSOCIATE OF SCIENCE
PROGRAM (61 CREDITS)
PURPOSE
The UVF Sport Management major will help students develop a broad understanding of the sport management field, providing exposure to the multiple career opportunities available. Students will learn the business side of sports and explore the technologies used in the field, all taught from a perspective that equips servant leaders to impact the marketplace. Students will also have a variety of opportunities for hands-on learning through field experience, internships, and community service.
PROGRAM STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES
1. Students will develop the knowledge and skills needed to locate and evaluate diverse forms of information in order to solve problems and make sound decisions.
2. Students swill be able to demonstrate effective leadership skills in a sports management setting.
3. Students will be able to critique the Biblical implications of ethical/moral dilemmas as to relate to areas of sports management.
4. Students will be able to assess the basic principles of business including accounting, management, marketing, promotions, finance and economics as they relate specifically to sports.
